The City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong (CCOHK) and YRock collaborated in presenting CLOCK (Classical + Rock = CLOCK) an evening of original music bridging musical and generation gaps as well as showcasing the International appeal of YRock‘s creative and emerging talent. The programme took place on 22nd Sept 2007 @ Ocean View Court, The Arcade, Cyberport. Musical genres ranged from Hip Hop, to Rock, Pop and Jazz backed by the CCOHK strings. The compositions by YRock talent were arranged for the CCOHK & YRock by Alistair Monteith-Hodge and guest conducted by RTHK Radio 3’s Phil Whelan.
As an adjunct to this unique event, YRockers made community visits to various child and youth-oriented charities in an effort to raise awareness for the activities of these non-government organisations.
The organisations included the HK Eating Disorders Association, Suicide Prevention Services, Society for the Relief of Disabled Children, Enlighten Action for Epilipsy, Against Child Abuse, Children’s Cancer Foundation, UNICEF and the Children’s Heart Foundation.
The information and statistics gathered from these visits was documented through digital media and presented at the concert with YRockers dedicating their song creations to their selected charity.
